During this journey, I have also lost just over ten pounds. injury free! I have been back running for the last eight months. The slow approach combined with strengthening exercises have propelled me back into running - and, drum roll. It is not an understatement to say this program has changed my life. Eventually, I stumbled upon Mark Kennedy’s None to Run program after yet another running related Google search. I tried many running programs to get back into the sport, including Couch to 5k. After suffering from runner’s knee and an ACL tear sustained from skiing, it seemed my running days were over. My younger running days consisted of hard training and lots of miles. I started running when I was 17 with no guidance - not a good idea. “The None to Run program truly made me a runner again. Behind all of your previous struggles are the keys to more energy, happiness, weight loss, boosted self-confidence, and in our opinion, a better life. It might not seem it at first, but running can be so rewarding when you're tought properly. You only *think* you do because it's new and you feel uncomfortable. We're here to tell you right here, right now, that you don't. We'll do things differently to those other plans that you're probably tired, and struggled with, before. It's just so hard! But it doesn't need to be – you're finding running difficult because you aren't being given the tools and the knowledge to succeed. We ease you in, giving you the strength and conditioning you need to make sure your running doesn't mean pain. Running when you aren't ready or without the proper training can hurt, leaving you with nagging injuries that never seem to clear up. You need a plan that's easy to follow and that can work around you, not the other way around. Kids, work, and other commitments can get in the way. The key to becoming more comfortable putting shoe to asphalt is that consistency, but it isn't easy for all kinds of reasons: Running is supposed to be fun but time and time again we hear that doing it consistently is too difficult.
